The agency owner saw something special in Katelynn and brought her into the office to help manage and run the company.
Reflecting on this pivotal moment, Katelynn shared, “I was young and didn’t have any other pathway, so I took a chance. I didn’t realize at first how much I would come to love it. The owner really instilled in me how to be a good manager, how to treat people, how to have morals, and find passion in caregiving.”
This early experience was crucial in shaping Katelynn’s approach to management. The knowledge and skills she gained from this time would serve her well in the years to come.

After several years of honing her skills, Katelynn transitioned to a new role as a regional manager at KWA, where she oversaw six locations from 2019 to 2022. This position provided her with a broader perspective on the industry and further developed her leadership abilities. But despite the success, Katelynn felt something was missing.
She explained, “I needed a change of pace. I was looking for a more positive work-life balance, and I felt like Family Resource Home Care was the place for that. I didn’t realize how genuinely nice everyone was, but now I’m the same. We’re all just genuinely nice people, and we create this amazing Family Resource Home Care culture.”

“I can do any level of care,” Katelynn stated confidently. “I’m very inclusive with all of my staff and invest a lot in my team. I genuinely care about their mental wellness and always try to make sure they feel supported to be the best they can be. They all have goals and ambitions to do better, and I’m always willing to support them.”

Katelynn’s journey has taught her the importance of being present and finding joy in the work, even in challenging situations. “When I was a caregiver in homes with clients, I always tried to be very present in the moment to give that client and myself the best experience. Most clients want interaction, and you can always do your job and make it fun. I always want to create good positive energy that can rub off on others.”
