ACQUISITION LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. –

Family Resource Home Care announced this month the acquisition of Companion Care, inc. of Woodinville, Washington. Over the past four years, Family Resource has expanded its geographic footprint to increase market share in the Pacific Northwest. The purchase is part of the agency’s plan to cover a majority of the region’s aging population and add density to its Western Washington presence. The addition of Companion Care, inc. brings the company’s total locations to seven in the greater Western Washington and 29 across Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

“We are thrilled to announce our acquisition of Companion Care, inc., a successful home care agency in the Western Washington region. Their exceptional track record and dedication to providing outstanding care aligns perfectly with our values,” said Jeff Wiberg, Family Resource Home Care CEO. “We look forward to warmly welcoming Companion Care, inc. into our family and together, we will continue to deliver industry best services to even more individuals and families in need within the community.”

Family Resource is the largest independent home care agency in the Northwest and one of the largest in the United States. It provides services primarily to the elderly such as personal care, medication management, meal preparation, housekeeping, companionship, dementia support and end-of-life, transitional and respite care. The company has scaled from eight locations in 2019 in an effort to serve more of the country’s aging population, with all Baby Boomers reaching age 65 by the year 2030.

“After dedicating 19 fulfilling years to enriching the lives of countless seniors in the Woodinville area, it was with a mix of nostalgia and anticipation that I made the decision to entrust my legacy to a deserving successor. As the founder and owner of Companion Care, inc., it was essential for me to find a like-minded company that would uphold the same unwavering commitment to our clients and caregivers,” said Merri Klein, founder, and owner of Companion Care, inc. “In our collaboration with Family Resource, we have discovered the perfect partner – one that not only shares our passion for care but also possesses the resources and expertise to provide our caregivers with the support they need to so they can offer the best quality of care to all clients. Family Resource’s dedication to growth and their alignment with our core values and culture have reassured us that our legacy is in the best possible hands. As we embark on this new chapter together, I am filled with gratitude for the past and excitement for the future. Together, as part of the Family Resource family, we will continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, ensuring their well-being and happiness are at the heart of everything we do,” said Klein.

Klein founded Companion Care, inc. in 2004, inspired by the desire to provide a service that makes a difference in people’s lives and to share the legacy her mother started with the original Companion Care, which was formed in Northwest Indiana in 1984. Companion Care’s office is in Woodinville, Washington and employs approximately 100 people throughout the area. All office and caregiving staff have been offered roles with Family Resource in their current locations.

“We are thrilled about the prospect of uniting our strengths and feel immensely grateful that Merri has entrusted us to carry on her legacy. Her choice reflects our shared commitment to unwavering quality,” stated Wiberg. “As we actively pursue opportunities to integrate other agencies into ours, our goal is for owners to feel confident that they are selling to a company whose values align with theirs and who will preserve the reputation they worked so hard to create.”
